Si les appareils hybrides (compacts avec optique interchangeable) ont en ce moment le vent en poupe, Nikon préfère développer son savoir faire dans un bridge. Avec le P100, du grand angle au téléobjectif, du portrait aux scènes sombres, cet APN semble parer à toutes les éventualités.

Plus : zoom très étendue (26x), grand angle, vidéo 1080p, écran escamotable, fonction rafale, enregistrement vidéo à haute vitesse.Moins : massif, écran orientable guère pratique, bruit parasite du zoom en vidéo, qualité des photos et vidéos dans les détails.
The Nikon P100 doesn’t quite deliver on the promises of the specs, but at least manages to produce some sharp images. The colour is the main letdown, as even when altered under manual controls it appears unrealistic.
The Nikon Coolpix P100 is a major step forward in terms of banishing the bane of the compact camera - image noise - though it does look fairly pricey. But that price gets you a superb lens (its remarkable focal range is ably illustrated by the two shots of the lighthouse at Dungeness, though oddly the cloudy WB setting struggled in the wide shot, though that proved a rare issue) which with VR tools, all combine to make the P100 and compact versatile camera capable of some excellent HD movies as well.
With a lightweight but well-built frame, amazing zoom and the ability to capture broad vistas, the Nikon Coolpix P100â€â„¢s capabilities are admirable. The video mode is far more flexible than the perfunctory nod to video capture on most cameras and we liked being able to directly select it in any mode. As for the cameraâ€â„¢s value for money, itâ€â„¢s close to incredible.
